I have a copy of a Stone lineage compiled by D. LaPierre Ballard. There is a Stephen Stone b. 1786 and no further information on birth place, wife or death date. He was the son of Richard Stone 1753-1825 (died in Patrick County, VA) married Martha ??????. Richard Stone was the son of Eusebius Stone (1732-1798 born in Caroline Co, VA and died in Henry Co, VA) and Susannah Ballard (1735-1825). Eusebius Stone was the son of Willaim Stone (b1700 in Caroline Co, Va and died 1765 in Henry County, VA and Elizabeth Ann ??? who were married in Lunenburg County, VA (now Bedford Co). The name Stephen was in several brancehs of the line. Micajah Stone did have a son named Stephen but he would have been born about 1800. ---------- : Seeking info on Stephen STONE b abt 1787 in SC and died after 1850 in Cass : (Bartow) Co GA. He married Elizabeth ?? (b abt 1786) abt 1812 probably in : Laurens District SC. : : A Stephen STONE appears in the 1820 Greenville District census. In 1830 there : are 2 Stephens - one in Abbeville and one in Spartanburg. In 1840 he appears : in Laurens District and in 1850 in Cass (later Bartow) County, Georgia. : : I am descended from his son, Stephen (Jr.), who was born abt 1820 in SC. : Stephen Jr. married Mariah ?? abt 1848 probably in Laurens District SC. : Stephen Jr. and Mariah STONE appear in the 1850 Cass Co census with their son, : George STONE, b in December of 1849 in SC. They had 2 more children, Mary (b : 1852) and Marshal Umphery (b 1854) before Stephen Jr died sometime before : 1860. : : Some say that Stephen (Sr.) is the son of Micajah STONE (b 1745) from : Lunenburg Co VA.
