    3. Did I somehow miss something? I don't understand the angry tone I am hearing in the E-mail below. I don't know what you have taken offense from, Mike. You probably won't get an answer from THIS list. Probably, you should leave it? Just a suggestion, mr. attitude (small caps intended.) (What an ugly attitude, and who would want to be related to "Mr. Mike"?) Not me! This list is NOT for attacking other people, and i don't understand why you think you might get some family information talking like that. Thanks! 3. Ladies and gentlemen, It appears that this list has gotten seriously off track the last few hours. When I assumed the responsibilities of managing the Stone list, I laid out a few simple rules. Evidently, some of you did not read my orginal message. So, I'll repeat that part again: <<I administer several other rootsweb lists and realize that problems can sometimes arise. Therefore, please remember that no personal chatting is permitted on the list. If you wish to communicate with a particular subscriber, write them directly. Also, jokes, forwards, spamming, virus warnings, or anything not pertaining to Stone genealogy are not permitted.>> One of the offenders has just unsubscribed from this list. That is unfortunate and so UNNECESSARY. We certainly don't wish to lose others. If you are having a disagreement with someone on this list, contact them directly. Why should 400+ subscribers have to read your squabbling?? Therefore, there will be no future discussions of ANYTHING except Stone GENEALOGY on this list!!! Violators of this rule may be removed from the list without futher notice. I do not wish to be too harsh and I hope you understand. If anyone has a problem with any of the above, feel free to contact me privately at: ewhendon@attbi.com . Sincerely, -Wayne Hendon, administrator

    2. Okay, John and Mike! Enough of this bickering and get back to genealogy. You both have good points, but WHO CARES at this point. We need to offer respectful advice or not at all! I don't want to receive another one of your emails unless it deals with Stone family genealogy!! Lynn

    3. Stones, I am not a Stone just married to one. We are far away from my husband's family on the East coast. His mother died when he was four years old. So I am trying to help by subscribing to this list and make some connections, gradually. I have been doing genealogy a few years and like to see trees regardless of the sloppiness. Why? Lots of data. Please be peaceful...... :) Shirley

This list is not your personal domain. Someone may have given years of hard work to post. And, a first post at that. Get out of the picture or unsubscribe. If you want to apologize that would be nice. Any one thinking that I'm off base, tell me about it. Mike Ps...I obviously don't have time for unsolicited opinions. Like I said I'm being nice. 3. All I have to do is scan it? Are you serious? Scanning for a date or a name in that poorly formatted email is like looking for a diamond in a wagon full of cow paties. You scan it of you wish, but the rest of us expect a little more. I can not imagine the person that has such rage over a post as you have shown. Saying "This list is not your personal domain" is totally uncalled for. BTW, this list is not your personal domain either, is it now, or am I mistaken? Inviting members of this list to unsubscribe as you said "Get out of the picture or unsubscribe" is subversive to the list and show an arrogance that is seldom seen. Yes you are off base, rude and acting as a bully -- according to your post it is "your way" or the highway. Who are you to ask someone to unsubscribe? And you say you are "being nice" huh? New to the list you say, well I'm "old" to the list and have never experienced such ill conduct by anyone on this or any other genealogy list. I hope to never see this kind of conduct on this or any other list again. 3. Marylou and others, May I offer an unsolicited opinion? As you can see below this message is so poorly formatted that it is a waste of my, and many others, to try and decipher it. It is just goobledegook. All it would take, is -- before you send a message to the STONE (or any other) list, send it to yourself and see how it appears. If it comes out like below, then reformat it so people will actually read it and try to respond. I'm not going to wade through this garbage looking for a diamond. 3. Patricia, I also descend from John Jessee Stone and Rebecca Sargent. I descend from their son, Martin G. Stone who married Sarah "Sally" Pendleton, who made their home at Mabe, Scott Co, VA. Martin G. Stone and Sarah Pendleton's son, Samuel Stephen Stone married Nancy Horton. Their son, William James Stone married Bess Parsons of Wise. W.J. Stone and Bess Parsons were my g-grandparents, and I knew both of them. We have a picture of Samuel "Bad Sam" Stone. He had black hair, light-colored eyes, a full (not fat) face and a fair complexion. I've recently seen a picture of Samuel Stone's nephew, Everett Stone, and the resemblance is amazing! Everett Stone is a son of Ira Trigg Stone. My grandmother, Maisie Stone remembers her aunt and uncle, Mary Easter "Easter" Stone and Wm. Henry Jessee who lived in VA. Wm. Henry Jessee lived to be the incredible age of 100 or so. I'm wondering if you knew them? You're one of the closest Stone relations I've run across on the list, and it's nice to know you!
