    3. Jan--Thanks, its our Stone family. Gandus Stone should read Candus, after her grandmother Candus Stone. Charlotte is Charlotte "Lotty" Rogers, sister of Candus and widow of John Rogers of Forsyth Co., GA. The 15 year old Henry Stone is living with grandparents Wiley and Candus Stone--his father Wesley KIA in Civil War. Questions: Do you know if Robert Stone is related? Does the 1880 census show which of the Stone(s) or wives was born in NC? Will appreciate even a negative reply. 3. The Gregory Stone genealogy lists over 27 Luthers, and several Lymans. George Franklin Stone was in my line also. For those researching New England origin Stones (Gregory's line in particular), there is a list of the over 700 names in the book, so at least you can check to see if there is a possible match. Go to this site, and click on the name list after the description of the book. http://www.digital-editions.com/STONE.htm _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.

    3. I quite agree with Pam. I too have many Stones, most with the names Edward, John, William, George, Robert, Alice, Elizabeth, Margaret etc etc ... one of mine even married a Mathe(w)son (my great-grandparents), but the vast majority of mine are connected to Nova Scotia, Canada and England ... not in the USA. It certainly would help a great deal, following Pam's suggestions, re: subject line. Many thanks, to those who follow this suggestion.
