    3. FYI -- the STONE database is no more (see below)! --John -----Original Message----- Sent: Wednesday, April 24, 2002 4:15 AM Subject: Re: Database download gives "PAGE NOT FOUND" Sorry John, that is a feature we are no longer supporting so we should probably remove it from our Main Page. You can download portions of the database by going to the Searchable database that is hosted by Roots web. Search out the person for whom you want an ancestry (or pedigree) or descendancy and you will find a button that allows you to download a GEDCOM file. Regards, Roger B. Stone

    3. Interestingly enough when I began cold-stone-sober to search for my family (not knowing even one) I had only three names plus my mother's step father. The only thing I could do is to do a general search. Did you know that in doing a General Search by putting in stone or little that first you get all the quarries, pavement companies, sculptures, and then anything else that is in the monstrous data banks to do with stone with the name Stone once in a while! My name Little was humorous because I got a whole data bank of American Indian names and little girl and little boy! Just thought I would share a little humor with you. I am happy to have any list that aids my search and omits all the other "stuff". Mary Mills nee Janice Deane Stone (with Little, Barry/Berry, Wilson ) One of these families of my clan came over with the Puritans. For all these I am searching to find my heritage. God Bless them all Thanks for listening ----- Original Message ----- From: "KarenHills" <Karen61@btinternet.com> To: <STONE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, April 20, 2002 11:53 PM Subject: Re: [STONE] NEW STONE-UK SURNAME LIST > When you discover the name of the ship you can join STONE-UK :-)) > > Really it is for those whose Stone's other than the odd adventurer, didn't > leave the UK, so a mainly US based list is of limited help to us. > > regards > > Karen > > > > ============================== > To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 > >

My Stones are TN to MO. Have only gotten back to 1820 census for my ggggrandfather and the birth of my gggrandfather, William Walker Stone, in Smith County in 1833. At some point, if I live long enough, will be going to the UK list. You wouldn't believe how long I've been at this. Congratulations on the new list!
