    3. Since naming patterns happen in families can anyone tell me if they have any Wesley's in their STONE line? Wm.Wesley Stone b.1838 in OH. His son John Wesley was born 1860 in OH. Also the name Joseph Presley Stone, does that ring any bells? Anyone? Anyone at all? They are German STONE's from PA and that means they might have been Steins. One of their early ancestor's was said to be Michael STONE, Micahal or something like that around 1760-1770. Thanks, Karen in OH

I'm a descendant of Deacon Gregory Stone and I'd love a copy of the photo - but then since I live in the Boston area, what I'd really like to know is how to find it! (And then I can take my own and save you the trouble!)

If anyone would be kind enough to help, would they please email me. Thanks very much. Georgia

    1. [STONE-L] Colonel John Stone
    2. Thomas H. Berg
    3. Hi all, I am brand new to the list, and not quite how best to start. My most remote Stone ancestor I am aware of is Colonel John Stone, who supposedly was born about 1631 and died about 1698, in Richmond County, Virginia. He apparently married a Sarah Fleet about 1670 in Richmond County, Virginia, who had previously been married to a Mr. Walker. I descend from their daughter Anne Stone, who was born about 1672 in Richmond County, Virginia. Any info anyone has about Colonel John would be appreciated. Thanks. Tom Berg

Would he have been called Cage and would he have married Lucy akers? Jan >> Jan, We don't know very much about Micajah Stone. I believe he was married to Anna Kerby. Micajah was born somewhere in SC in about 1838. He died in 1862 from illness at Adams Run, SC while serving with Co. E of the 16th South Carolina Regiment. His father was Mastin Stone who was born around 1806. >From responses to my query I've learned Mastin's father was also named Micajah. This Micajah's wife was Mahala or Mahula. That about exhausts my knowledge on the subject. Hopefully we can learn some more. Mike in Illinois
