    2. Debby I saw your e-mail and thought that I would let you know that I do have some records for Boone County, Iowa. If you would give me a couple of days I will look through them and see if your STONE is listed in any of them. Also I have a STONE, Charles H. in Black Hawk County, Iowa, and was wondering if yours might have been in that area. The period would be about 1860's. Take care and will get back to you. I am looking for information on the parents of David STONE (David is possibly his middle name). He was born in NC and moved to West Virginia around 1828 to 1840 and married a Jane FOSTER in 1842. He had 11 children in Kanawha County, West Virginia. He died at Cabin Creek, West Virginia in 1900. It's possible that he had a brother from the Kanawha County area named Hiram Stone. It is also possible that his father was John STONE married to a Betsy CURRY in North Carolina. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks for your time. [email protected]

    1. [STONE-L] Introduction
    2. Northwest Georgia Council
    3. Have just joined this list and hoping to find out more info on one of the "scarcer" branches of my fam. tree. My name is Charles Roberts Stone, one of 3 children of Charles Edward Stone from Doerun, GA. He and his brother, Allen Chandler Stone of Huntsville, AL are the children of Allen Edward Stone, Jr. and Sara Elizabeth Roberts Stone of Doerun, GA. A.E. Stone, Jr.'s father was Allen Edward Stone, Sr. and his mother was Rosa Brisendine Stone. I believe A.E. Stone, Sr. had a medical practice in Doerun, along with his brother Julius Ceasar Stone (?), a dentist. After that, I get real spotty. Anyone out there have any advice to offer? I seem to remember going to Fort Gaines, GA as a child to visit some Stone relatives, but don't have any details. Thanks! Charles R. "Rob" Stone Dalton, GA

    3. Greetings cousins, At last, at last, I am so happy to say, I've broken a brick wall!!! Well, lets say I was lucky enough to find a document that broke it for me. While cleaning out our house we just sold, I came across my husbands father's old stamp collection. I boxed it (smart gal that I was) and decided to keep it, go through it later (who know some valuable stamps may be in there)--- well, something more valuable than stamps WAS there..... an old letter written by my husband's grandmother to my husband's uncle (then probably given to my husbands father for the stamp) which outlines one branch of my dear hubby's family!!!! so, dear cousins, sharp as I am, here I am, subbed to all my new surname lists. (Please pardon all the CCs, I promise not to do it again. Chances are though, if you are on two or more of the above surname list, I WANT TO TALK TO YOU! heheheheh. 2. Sherwin, It may be only coincidence but I have a Pearl and a Luther Stone who were sibs about the ages of the ones you listed in Stone digest. Do you have any ties to NE Ar? My Pearl and Luther where among the oldest of James R Stone, Jr and Emma Clementine Jones Stone who raised a family in Independence Co, Ar. Jan Gilliam Reynolds
