Really I did not know that there was so much going on with STONEs of the same given names, but I ran across something last night that has me confused on the STONES in SC. William STONE came fr. VA into Laurens Co., SC, in the late 1700's. Among his children was Micajah Banister STONE, Sr. and Mastin STONE (my line). Micajah Banister STONE, Jr. was a grandson, often referred to as Banister STONE while his father seems to have been known as Micajah. Now, here's the confusion! On my GREER/KILGORE line, Keziah GREER, dau of William GREER (listed in the DAR), md. one James KILGORE. Among their children was a daughter Elizabeth KILGORE md. Bannister STONE (an extra "n"). This Bannister STONE was quite well-known, apparently a member of the SC House of Representatives and a reknown citizen in the Greenville, SC, area. I don't know if he ties into the above STONES, but would love to know. If so, my parents are related to each other - again!!! I already found that they were 6th cousins earlier this year! Any clarification on the above would be wonderful! Also, if you have info on the parents of Keziah GREER KILGORE, I would love to hear about that. Thank you, and wonderful and safe holidays to you and the ones you love! Dolores Miller Pringle - G-G'daughter of Anna Rebecca STONE MILLER

I am seeking infor from the person who responded to Jack Martin's e-mail on Stephen STONE of SC. I am a descendent of Susannah BALLARD and her husband Eusebius STONE their son Micajah STONE and Martha Cesteon or Chesterson. I am interested in the book you said that you had on the Ballard family by D. LaPierre Ballard. Where could I purchase one or would you be willing to send me the information on Susannah BALLARD's parents? I have her parents as Richard BALLARD Jr. no other information and his wife Mary HUBBARD no other information the only child I have listed is Richard Ballard Jr. I have Mary Hubbard as the child of John Hubbard and Sarah Stone. Hope you can help me and thank you. Florence
I have a copy of a Stone lineage compiled by D. LaPierre Ballard. There is a Stephen Stone b. 1786 and no further information on birth place, wife or death date. Richard Stone was the son of Eusebius Stone (1732-1798 born in Caroline Co, VA and died in Henry Co, VA) and Susannah Ballard (1735-1825). Debby Well I did find a listing for STONE, Adolph Edward that married Peterson in my marriage register. The date that is given is Oct. 02, 1887 and the page number 130. This is located in the Boone County Marriage Register, Book # 1. Also in the Linnwood Cemetery listing there are to PETERSON, Matilda's listed. One was born in 1849 and died in 1937. She is buried in section W2, grave #6. There is another one that was born in 1855 and died also in 1937. She is buried in section F, grave # 14. I do hope that this might shed some light on your STONE's name. It is not much but at least it is a little. You take care now and have the best of holidays. Ed IBSSG
