    1. [STONE-L] world terrorism court
    2. gloria m lange
    3. I am seriously emotional about the events of yesterday and my sincere prayers are with all those who have been affected by the tragedy. I hold no nation responsible, even if it turns out that a country harbored the terrorists who perpetrated this horror. I am the judge of no one, and I earnestly urge all Americans to remember that if we attack a country in retaliation, we will also kill innocent people...that is the nature and terrible consequence of war. i cannot hide my head in the sand and pretend this has not happened, but i for one am not willing to sacrifice even one more life to these terrorists...if we go to war we will be making a strong statement that we will not tolerate terrorist activity, but we will also destroy, and i feel strongly that wholesale destruction will not help the situation. Of course, i am nobody ...i cannot speak for all of America, i can only speak for myself. I am terrified , which i refuse to give in to, because i give those who deal in terror what they want if i give in...i will never do that. I am angry, but i do not presume that my anger gives me the right to take human life, because if i do, i am equal to them who have wantonly taken life. the nature of terrorism is that we can try to protect ourselves from it, but ultimately it is always there, because too many people are not willing to make the changes nesessary to eradicate it. If any country harbors criminals by the will of the government or the people of said country, then they are accessories before and after the fact and MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. I feel strongly that JUSTICE, not war, is the only answer. I think that a WORLD COURT AGAINST TERRORIST ACTS should be convened and the suspected perpetrators tried in absentia if we are unable to extradite them, and if found guilty by a preponderance of the evidence, the country harboring them should be required to give them up or ask for help in arresting them, or also be held as culpable . then what ever action at that point would be the choice of each person in the guilty country, along with the guilty terrorists, the sentence to be carried out by military and police action. I feel that innocent, right thinking, law abiding citizens of all countries should feel this to be the best solution to these acts. if you disagee with me that is your right, and I do not condemn anyone for their opinion, I just hope that enough people feel as I do and will send out this message. gloria washington state

    1. [STONE-L] William Hopgood Stone
    2. Kitty Johnson
    3. Hi, folks -- I put this out to the list every so often in the hopes that one day it'll ring somebody's bell. I'm looking for information on William Hopgood Stone, who according to census records was born in Virginia in 1822. He at some point migrated to Georgia, where he settled in Polk County and married Mary "Mollie" Kate Garner and had a large family. He was my ggggrandfather and I have lots of information on his children/spouse to share if anyone is interested. I've always assumed that Hopgood might have been his mother's maiden name, but of course, have no proof of this. Any information anyone could offer on this fellow would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
