Romanofsky May 1, 2011 Beatrice W. Romanofsky, 87, of Wyomissing Hills, died April 29, 2011, at ManorCare Nursing Center, West Reading. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Andrew L. and Anastasia C. (Garahan) Stoltz. She was the wife of John M. Romanofsky. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Patrice M. Romanofsky, of Philadelphia; a brother, David, husband of Louella Stoltz, Spartanburg, S.C.; and a sister-in-law, Regina Stoltz, of York. She also is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. She was predeceased by brothers: Andrew Stoltz and Gerald Stoltz; and a sister, Patricia (Stoltz) Richers. She was a 1941 graduate of Altoona Catholic High School and attended post graduate secretarial school. Beatrice worked as a secretary for an architectural firm, a TSS machine operator for Fry Publications, a secretary and bookkeeper for several other businesses and retired as a school crossing guard for Spring Township in 1990. She also provided private, in-home child care for many children in her community during her time as a stay-at-home mom. She was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the choir for many years. Beatrice also was a member of the Altoona Sweet Adelines Chorus from the late 1950's until 1961. A Celebration of Life Prayer Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel at Gethsemane Cemetery, 3139 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, PA 19605. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be at Gethsemane Cemetery.
