    1. REMINDERS!
    2. Shirley Fergus
    3. Hello Everyone, I am writting to you today to REMIND you that you HAVE TO change the subject lines of posts and DO NOT leave the subject blank. People tend to not read a post that has no subject line or from a thread that has gone on for so long without realizing the true topic of that thread actually changed several days ago. So please change your topic if you are making a different comment. Of course the surname will always come up if it comes from one of our boards, however we need to know who it is you are writting about! Always also remember to put places, dates and names on the subject line. This helps people to know who they are reading about. Thanks, Shirley Fergus LIST MOM

    1. Obtaining Military Records Online
    2. Shirley Fergus
    3. Obtaining Military Records Online http://www.archives.gov/research_room/vetrecs/ It is now possible for veterans and family members of deceased veterans to obtain copies of DD-214's online. To obtain a DD-214, go to the National Personnel Records Center's Website. You can also go online to order the DD-214's via mail or fax. You can obtain your DD-214 by filling out Standard Form 180, which can be downloaded from the Forms page. The new web-based application was designed to provide better service on these requests by eliminating the records center's mailroom processing time. Veterans and next of kin may access this application at this page. For more on requesting and replacing military records, see Replacing Military Records.

    1. KOEL and STOLTZ Family Photograph
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" an old photo postcard identified as Cap. KOEL and J. KOEL of Fargo, North Dakota and Fr. STOLTZ of Emery, South Dakota. The three young men appear to be in their 20's at the time the photograph was taken. No photographer or location is identified, however, I believe that the photo was probably taken around 1910-1920. I'm wondering if "Fr." stands for Frank or Fred or maybe even refers to a title of some sort, he doesn't appear to be a priest so I don't believe it is "Father". Also wonder if "Cap" is a nickname, formal name, or title. They are all dressed in nice suits so it could be a college or fraternity photograph. I'm hoping to locate someone from the families so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to family. If you are a member of one of these families or know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
