I just came across it. I have no idea if there is a connection, but I do have a great uncle named Paul Stoltz who lived in New Orleans. He came from Illinois and his father had immigrated from the Alsace area we believe. Still working on that part. Glad to share more if interested. 1. [STOLTZ] Elizabeth Stoldt
    2. Hello! Would anyone know of this family?  My husband descends from Gottfried STOLDT (1838-1928) and Caroline MOLDENHAUER (1842-1919). I have found they had a daughter, Louise Caroline, b. 20 Oct 1889, and a daughter, Elizabeth, b. Oct or Nov 1889.  Louise married a Potter, but can find nothing else on these two girls.  I'm trying to determine if they are the same person, but am having no luck.  If anyone knows of this family I would love to hear from you.  Thanks. Carmel, IL. If you have not heard of it already, you need to see the book by Eurus Vernon Stoltz, The Stoltz Genealogy 1634 - 1980: Ancestry and Descendants of Johann Adam Stoltz. It also includes a great deal about the Marz family, as the two families are intertwined. The book never comes up for sale, but you can see it at the Mt. Carmel Public Library. Stoltz who lived on Chaffee St. in San Diego, California in 1949 and was in a car accident in October of 1949. I am hoping that Mr. Stoltz can give me some information on my father since they knew each other and I would like to know more about him. Please contact me, I have so many questions. The only people who even knew about me, I think was his family and we only found each other in the last 5 years and unfortunately most of them have passed away and the youngest of the family doesn't remember much since she was so young. Mr. Stoltz would remember him and could give me some insight into his personality and maybe some stories for my family tree. I am trying desperately to find out any info on the Stoltz clan who live and have lived in the Dayton Ohio area, specifically in the Miami and Darke County area. I have next to no info about any of them other than my grandfather, Elmer. I know he had about 12 brother's and sister's but I know the names of none of them. I am finding that getting the most basic of info is very difficult. I know that they are in the painting and well drilling business. Any and all help much appreciated. Author: ConradtS Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.stoltz/229.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hallo Jimmy. My paternal family originate from that area. My grandfather Coenraad W.F. Stoltz farmed between Laersdrift and Roosenekal on the Modderspruit. My great grandfather, Willem Johannes had a farm, Bultfontein, on the Witpoortspruit, near the confluence with the Steelpoort river. This was the family farm and has been past down from his father, Gabriel Jozef Petrus Stoltz. I have much of the names of the family, thanks to a bible (that have unfortunately been lost), that had inscriptions front and back, that I copied about 20 years ago. If this interrest you let's talk, e-mail stoltz.henley@gmail.com or Freddie Stolla Stoltz on facebook. Hope to hear from you soon. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: lastonestanding Surnames: Stoltz Classification: biography Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.stoltz/232/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Claremont,California Courier newspaper Thursday Nov 24th 1927 LOCAL UNIT OF ARROW HIGHWAY IS COMPLETED FOR AUTOMOBILE USE E.C.Stolz of Covina, contractor for the local unit of the Arrow Highway has moved his gang of men away from the job here after a residence of several months. Stoltz's action doe not come from any disagreement with the local authorities or any dissatisfaction with the terms of his contract. The simple reason for his exit lies in the fact that his job is done. The link of the famous straight line highway from San Bernardino to Los Angeles is completed the last rolling of its fine macadam surface taking place last week. Although it is the claim that many portions of the highway are complete between her and San Bernardino and it has been stated that one can now travel from here to Upland over the new route Claremonters have experienced some difficulty in finding the course of the road between her and the neighboring city. There is no doubt of the local link, however. A few autos were seen buzzing merrily over its surface last weekend. The road is 30 feet wide and 6 inches think, spread with asphalt binder. If all the towns along the route could have started with their white units simultaneously with Claremont the new route would today be a magnificent reality instead of merely a source for argument. ---------------------- 1930 census for Chino,San Bernardino county,Ca.
