Dear Leon, I have to go back through some Cumberland material later today that is on the internet because there seems to be something that looks wrong with this line where they have connected Elizabeth J. Stiles who married William (either Leonard or Lemmon) Freeland. It appears that this must be correct as the data is on the marriage record for her daughter Clarissa (called Clara) when she married Wm. F. Walls in Aug. of 1900. I am taking my time exploring this & am in the process of using good proofs that I've gathered so far to do it. The thing is that she & both her parents were born in PA but when we track them in the census it turns out that this gal from Mt. Morris area, Perry Twp., Greene County only seems to match in with one Thomas Stiles. Elizabeth is born bet. 1853 & 1855. She has children but we are currently interested in her dau. Clarissa (Clara) who married William Walls - said to be William F. Walls. The thing is that this Thomas we come up with in PA is sometimes having his name spelled Stiles & on other census records as Styles. He also appears to have been married earlier & is a widower & later is married to a Sarah ________. I don't know if he is Elizabeth J.'s father or not. I want to explore a few more things before voicing my opinion. I'll certainly be in touch with you because if I an offer any new data to assist the group will be happy to help. This is not my line & I'm doing it for a friend on several surnames.
