Edmond Stiles, (WA2JPM, the golden voice of Morrisonville and the greater Champlain Valley), 68, of Rand Hill Road, became a silent key on Saturday, July 13, 2002, at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, on May 9, 1934, son of Willard Calvin and Marie Ethel (LeBlanc) Stiles. Edmond was a member of St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. He was a graduate of Mount Assumption Institute in Plattsburgh, Clinton Community College and Plattsburgh State University. Edmond was a life member of Knights of Columbus Council 6067 in Morrisonville, the past president and past treasurer of Champlain Valley Amateur Radio Club, (CVARC), a member of Digital Operations Emergency Radio Service, (DOERS) and owned and operated J. E. Stiles Accounting Service since the 1960's. In addition, he served the community as radio officer for Clinton County Defense for over 40 years. Edmond is survived by his wife, the former Mary Stewart Stiles of Morrisonville; two sons, Phillip John Stiles of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Scott Edmond Stiles of Plattsburgh; a daughter, Renée Ann Stiles of Nashville, Tenn.; a brother and sister-in-law, Willard C. and Marilyn Stiles of Plattsburgh; five grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, Diana and Denise of Colorado Springs and Sadie Stiles of Plattsburgh; five stepsons, Christopher and Margaret Stewart of Plattsburgh, Thomas Stewart of Plattsburgh, James and Kim Stewart of Plattsburgh, Tim and Cindy Stewart of Plattsburgh and Paul and Lisa Stewart of Saranac; five stepdaughters, Jean and Mark Stowe of Morrisonville, Catherine and Brian Forget of Morrisonville, Mary Rascoe of Plattsburgh, Pamela Atkinson of Dannemora and Christine and Dan Froehlich of Peoria, Ariz.; several stepgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Edmond was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Dorothy Theresa Parrotte and a sister, Marie Kirk. Calling hours will be Sunday, July 14, 2002, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Members of the Morrisonville Knights of Columbus will meet Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. for a vigil service. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday morning at 11 a.m. from St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville. Burial will follow in St. Alexander's Cemetery in Morrisonville.
