    2. Hi List, I am new to this list, and I am not researching the Stiles family. What I am atempting to do is find someone who is researching a Mrs. N. H. Stiles who resided at 35 Hicks St., Waycross, GA. in 1913-1914. Also an Alma Stiles of Macon, Ga. and Port Tampa City, Fl. in the late 1800's & early 1900's. They may have been friends with or kin to the L. T. Anderson family who also resided on Hicks St. in Waycross I have documents of sentimental value to some descendant of these women. 3. Need Baptismal Record for Lost Stiles Ancestor Need baptismal record for Benjamin L. Stiles, my 3-great grandfather who was born in some Western New York location in 1804, possibly in Chautauqua Town, which was formerly in Genesee later Chautauqua County. I want to tie B. L. Stiles to his possible father, Avery Stiles who lived in Chautauqua later. (As found in the 1825 & 1835 N.Y. State Census Records, Hanover Township; also the 1830 Federal Census Record.) According to our record of his birth, acquired from the Stiles Family of America genealogy society, Benjamin Locke Stiles was born October 22, 1804 in New York. The SFA is not certain that Avery Stiles is Ben's father, but is the best prospect according to what has been found at this time. What I have on these two men is as follows: The Reverend David Brown (of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Fredonia) performed the marriage for Benjamin Stiles and my 3-great grandma in 1823. They were listed in church records as Ben Styles and ---- (Betsey) Moore. According to newspaper "New York Censor" (Fredonia)of March 24, 1824, Benjamin Stiles married Betsey Moore on March 18 of that year. According to his obituary printed on April 6, 1904 in the Watseka (Illinois) Republican Newspaper, Wilfred Stiles, son of Ben Stiles, was born in Fredonia on December 29, 1827. The Fredonia "(New York) Censor" Newspaper ran an obituary on Oct. 2, 1839 for: "Standish R. Stiles died at Abingdon IL on August 29, 1839. He was son of Benjamin Stiles, formerly of Fredonia." The 1830 Federal Census Record for the County of Chautauqua (Pomfret, page 422, Roll: M19_86) lists our Benjamin Stiles, as do both the 1825 & 1835 New York State Census Records. Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated. Diane Stiles Redondo Beach, CA

    3. Timothy Stiles Otsego Cemetery, Unknown Family Query posted by: Diane Stiles Trying to identify the family of Timothy Stiles, who died in on 17 December in 1810 at the age of 16 in Edmeston, Otsego and is buried at Robinson's Corners Cemetery there. My Stiles family was probably residing in this area according to the 1810 Federal Census. I am trying to tie my 3great grandfather, Benjamin Stiles born in 1804 to this Timothy Stiles as a possible sibling (b. 1794). They could both be tied a possible father, Avery Stiles of MA who moved to Western New York and was listed in Planfield in Otsego in 1810 on page 123 of the Federal Census. They could both also be tied to the Otsego merchant named "Stiles" (no first name stated, could be Avery) who is listed in old sourcebook: "Old Times Notes Taken Largely From English American History Many From Private Sources and More Particularly Intended as a Whole to Illustrate Early Life in the Upper Susquehanna Valley and the Adjacent Regions," by Williard V. Huntington, Volume VII page 63 & 101 Anyone with any information about Timothy Stiles buried in Otsego please assist.
