    3. Hello listers, I have a mystery that I do not believe will ever be solved. But this list is the last stop. My great grandfather Leland Frances Stiles was (b) abt 1872. The family believes he was (b) in Ohio. After he died in 1938 in Los Angeles, CA, his death record was altered to read Indianapolis, Indiana as a birth place. Here is the mystery....... He was said to be raised by a doctor and his wife in Ohio. He told his children that his parents were killed and they took him in. Leland named his children Carl, Florence, John, and Frank. Those are the names of Leland's siblings.that apparently were farmed out to be raised by others. There was never another word about them from Leland. Another mystery..... Were the surnames of the doctor and his wife STILES? or was that his surname he was born with... If someone out there has a clue what to do or where to look next....I would love to hear it! Recently, when my elderly aunt passed away I found a letter from Josephine Moore 1856 - 1929 d: November 29, 1929 in Turbotsville, PA who married Clarence M Stiles 1854 - 1925 d: October 12, 1925 in Turbotsville. Josephine is living RD 3 Watsontown. The dead dates are not proven by me but do come from a Stiles family historian. Does any one have any info on this family. Thanks in advance. Marilyn
