Ruth was born Nov. 29, 1913, in Hartford, Conn. She was a long time resident of the High Desert, coming here in 1959. She was a member of Hesperia Community Church. Ruth and her family raised hothouse tomatoes on their property in Hesperia, to the delight of many. She was employed by the Victor Valley Union High School District in the food service department. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Marion. She is survived by her son Tom Stiles of Lucerne Valley; two grandsons Steven and Gary Stiles of Northern California, and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hesperia Community Church, 16775 Olive St. in Hesperia. Kern Hesperia Mortuary is handling arrangements.
