Sorry, Mary... that is the nature of the boards and the gateway. The quoting of someone's earlier message in a board post is not recommended, nor is it necessary in the board culture. The information is right there for folks to read. To repost the poster's message within another's post is an infringment of copyright. To quote bits as stated are unnecessary as they are there to be seen. The links to the thread are easily accessed via the link in the gatewayed post. I know this seems, at times, as a PITA... however, consider that the message has been delivered to your inbox to picque your interest... you have not had to go and search the thousands of posts to find it. Current count of Stewart board messages = 9583. If it is of interest, one need only click the link to view the discussion that occurred earlier. Being as there are folks that post to the boards, sometimes on a once only basis, that would not subscribe to the lists, it is beneficial to have the boards gatewayed to the lists, in order to provide the widest possible exposure to the query that just might solve your genealogical puzzle.
