Monday, December 6, 1999 The Chronicle-Herald, Halifax, N.S. THOMAS GERARD STEWART STEWART, Thomas Gerard "Gerry" - 74, Harrietsfield, died December 5, 1999, in VG Site, QEII. Born in Frankville, Antigonish Co., he was a son of the late Archibald and Minnie (Clinton) Stewart. He served with the Royal Canadian Army Signal Corp. He was employed for over 38 years, with the Canadian National Railway in the express department. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and gardener. He was a member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Laura K. Casey; sons, Gerald, Williamswood; John (Laurie), Calgary; Wayne, Harrietsfield; Donald (Brenda) East Uniacke; daughters, Doris (Basil) Levy, Hatchet Lake; Patsy (Fred) Naylor, Williamswood; granddaughters, Donna, Christine, Natalie; great-granddaughter, Catherine. He was predeceased by brothers, James, Archibald, Ambrose and Adrian; sister, Agnes Maher. Private family services were held in St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Rev. Ron Cairns officated. Cremation followed. Burial to take place in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations to the Palliative Care Unit, VG Site QEII St. Michael's Church or the CNIB.
