Hi Beverly, What makes you so sure your William Stewart was born in Ireland? The last names of Thornton and Barnett are old VA names and there are Fauquier CO Stewart lines. Hi Teresa, Beverly, There were Barnetts in Ireland that came to Virginia. My Barnett ancestors came from Londonderry Ireland to Virginia. My 7th great grandfather James Barnett was born in Londonderry, Ireland in 1703 and died in Albemarle,Virginia in 1787. Baptized May 24 1703. Will dated Sept 16, 1786, DAR record copy 328042.
