    1. STEWART, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia
    2. Lynton Stewart
    3. My Stewart's came to Cumberland County, Nova Scotia from Blair Atholl in Perthshire. They arrived around 1800 or thereabouts. My first family member in the county was Robert Stewart, born in Blair Athol, died 4 April 1873 in Wallace. His wife was Ann McDonald, also born in Perthshire, and she died in Wallace on 26 Sep 1865. Their known children were: James, who married Catherine McLennan Robert Christina Peter Elizabeth (Betsy) John I have very good reason to believe that virtually all of the Stewart's living in Cumberland County before 1870 were related. I would love to hear from any other family members. I have a reasonably large database on the Stewart's of Cumberland Co., and am more than willing to share. If anyone has any pictures of people from that line of Stewart's, I would love to have a scanned copy! I can't help on Stewart's from the States. My line didn't come to the US until after 1930. Thanks, Lynton (Bill) Stewart A former Canadian citizen, who lost his Canadian citizenship due to an unjust clause in the 1947 Citizenship Act, that the government refuses to correct. Many Canadian's lost their citizenship because of clauses in that law. The majority of them do not even know that this happened. Canada left children and women stateless under this law, which violated UN Human Rights Treaties, which Canada had ratified.
