Hi Teresa, Susan states in the 1880 Fed Census for Richland Co., IL that her father was born in Ireland. Susan also states in the 1880 census that her mother was born in KY although other researchers say she was born in VA. Only the marriage is proven to my satisfaction by marriage records of Fauquier Co. VA which do list her father as Ambrose Barnett. I believed it was the Ambrose Barnett who married Judith Neville in 1766 but cannot prove it and now believe it may be another Ambrose Barnett. There is one who is married to a Thornton which is a name used for her son and grandson's. > >Hi Teresa, Beverly, > >There were Barnetts in Ireland that came to Virginia.
