I really have no idea where my John Steuart landed, but I have a feeling it was probably in PA. He came to the US between 1842-1848, and was a coal miner in PA, married a Mary Johnson and they had their first three children in PA...in the Pittsburgh area... From there they moved to Pike County, IL around Winchester...where he was a coal miner for a while, and the other children were born. The Steuart became Stewart for some of the family members, and others remained Steuart. My great grandmother Kathleen, who was born in PA, used both. Until Fran Baggett located me here, I did not know her name was Steuart...but Stewart. Donna
