HEARD in 1851 and died 1883 in Perry County AL. The HEARD children were: William J, Charles M, Judge, Mary and Martha. Sarah Elizabeth's sisters might have been Nancy STEWART b ABT 1847 and Rebecca STEWART b ABT 1849 GA. These girls were listed with her in the 1860 Perry County census. By 1870 Sarah Elizabeth STEWART HEARD was listed as head of household with her 5 children. My understanding is that her husband died in 1853 at Missionary Ridge. According to http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/soldiers.htm Samuel A. HEARD was in the 41st Alabama Infantry Company E.
