Karen, Mary`s middle name was KEY, this of course is according to George Edson of the SCM. Mary had another sister with the middle name of Key also. This Stewart line was from Northamptonshire CO England, and can be traced back to 1500. They came to Henrico CO VA abt 1660`s. The area they lived in Henrico became Chesterfield CO VA. About 1758 John Stewart son of Daniel Stewart, moved to Amelia CO VA with his wife Mary Bowman Stewart. John was born ca 1700 and died in Amelia CO VA 1779. His father DANIEL was born ca 1670. John Stewart born 1700, had several sons: Charles (the father of Mary K Stewart), John JR, Daniel , Gilbert and Littleberry. Charles was the only one to stay in the Amelia/Nottoway CO VA area. Most moved to Bedford, Franklin and Henry CO VA. Later some moved to Rowan CO NC.
