    3. Saturday, October 21, 1939 The Halifax Chronicle, Halifax, N.S. WILLIAM STEWART OXFORD, Oct 20 - The death occurred suddenly on the morning of Sunday, Oct. 15th of William Stewart of Roslin, at the age of 75 years. Although not enjoying the best of health for some time, yet his passing proved a shock to his many friends. Deceased had lived his whole life in Roslin and was greatly respected. He was the last member of this branch of the Stewart family, his three brothers, Robert, David and James, also his three sisters having predeceased him. He operated an up-to-date farm, and was a staunch member of the Presbyterian church. He is survived by his wife, two sons, George of Oxford; Charles of Great Village; two daughters, Edna (Mrs. A. Donavon), of Western Canada, and Olla (Mrs. William Mitchell), of Linden, N.S. A largely attended funeral was held from his late home on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. E. G. B. Foote of St. James Presbyterian church, Oxford officating. Interment at Roslin cemetery.
