William Stewart (of Oconee Co. SC) bought some land in 1797 from Burrell Bobo of Spartanburg Co on Little River. Wm. Stewart sold this land to William Nicholson in 1800. If this is your family, I may have more on them. I just got back from NC and have not gone through all my info. ----- Original Message ----- From: Belle Shepherd To: STEWART-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, November 27, 2005 6:32 PM Subject: Re: [STEWART] Stewart/Hogan/Bobo My great-grandfather Solomon Bobo b July 4, 1823 married Mary Martha Stuart b April 15. 1821 Are these the ones you are referring to?

Hi Thelma, Sorry, I've been away from the computer. But, refresh me here. Did I put something out on Stewart/Hogan/Bobo? And I'm certainly interested in Stewart/Hogan! (I've been in a flurry of activities lately, and don't recall for sure.) Cheers, Dick Stewart
I don't know. Who is Walter Stewart and where in Georgia did he settle? There was a Walter Stewart on the Montgomery Co. TN Tax list in 1798 or 1800. Anyway, either he was in the area that became Stewart or Dickson in 1803 and moved on, or he owned land and didn't live there at all. His name doesn't ever show up again in that area after that tax list. ----- Subject: Re: [STEWART] Stewart/Hogan/Bobo Thelam, I thought this line settled in GA? I know a Charles Stewart was in Dickson co. early and donated land for the town where the county seat is located. Its been a long time since I looked at this but its in the Dickson co. history on line. you know Carroll co. is just a little west of there. -------Original Message------- From: Thelma Glover Date: 11/28/05 20:45:47 To: STEWART-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [STEWART] Stewart/Hogan/Bobo I don't know. Thelma, Did you say you found something in NC on HOGAN? Dick Stewart
Dick, I was replying to your post of Nov 21 to Vickie. You were talking about Stewarts in LCT who went on to AL. The Bobo name caught my eye because a William Stewart of Spartanburg Co SC bought land in Pendleton Co. from Burrell Bobo of Spartanburg,Co in 1797. Don't believe any Hogans were there though. Howerver, I am pretty familiar with the Old Orange Co.NC Hogans. Several of them went to Montgomery and Robertson Co. TN before 1800 and Hogans connect to several of my collateral lines in that area. There are Hogans still in Orange, NC and there were Hogans that lived in the part of Orange that became Chatham. There was a Hogan family in Halifax Co. NC in the late 1790's. Col. John Hogan from Chatham, NC went to Stewart Co. TN by 1800. However, I have not seen a Hogan/Stewart connection in NC, though there is a connection after they moved to TN. I have seen a Hogan in the 1800 census of either Union,Greenville, or Pendleton, SC. Can't remember which county since I wa! s checking them all recently.
