Howdy All: Just a reminder to check the subject line to make sure it matches the content of your message before hitting the send key. Discussion has picked up again and when you guys get going fast and furious, ya tend to forget that the subject line holds some importance. Those not interested in the thread may be looking for exactly what's in your message, but due to subject line may have deleted it on sight for not being pertinent to them. Those crusing the archives now or in the future are going to skip over anything that does not "speak" to them. And if they find that your subject line lied about the message it identified, they might ignore your future messages as being unrelated to their search. So... the long and the short of it is..... STOP, LOOK and change the subject to reflect the content of YOUR message. Oh, and while I am at it... as I just sent a message to the Stewart-DNA list to remind them.... make sure that you only quote the bits of a prior message that you must in order to get your point across. No need to pile up the message and create mini-digests. Your fellow listers, especially the ones receiving the digest mode, will appreciate your attention to this detail. And... I am sure, if something one or any of you have done or are doing bugs one of the listers, I will hear of it that I "missed something" in my Admin Note. I will try to incorporate it in the next one... whenever that is. :) And for those of you lurking.... you are more than welcome to... there is no requirement by Rootsweb for anyone to have to post any messages at all to remain subscribed to the lists. However, consider that your cousins will not know you are here til you post. You could both be lurking waiting for the other to post! If it's been a while since you posted.... try it again. It really is a better idea to post more than once a year, or even twice or three times a year. If you don't know/remember when the last time was, it probably has been too long! So start thinking of what you want to post and try it before Tartan Day. :) [arbitrary date of April 6 picked]. Yours Aye, Lauren Stewart List Admin < who is returning to hibernation mode to rest and recouperate from recent illness, but still is reading every single message :)
