    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Stewart, Martin Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AmJBAIB/4577.3 Message Board Post: Incidentally, I don't believe Will and Texana (Martin) were ever divorced. While Will is buried in the Freeman Cemetery, just east of Conroe, Montgomery County, Texas, and Texana is buried in Conroe Memorial Cemetery, Conroe, Montgomery County, Texas, her tombstone lists her as Texana Stewart, and she is buried next to other Stewarts. In the 1930 Montgomery County Census, Will and Texana are listed together, enumerated 4/24, but Will is also listed with their son, Frank, enumerated 6/22. They probably had a rocky marriage, but it doesn't look like they were actually divorced. They've been listed together in all the other census years since their marriage. I show that Will used to work for Delta Land & Timber Company as a logging contractor. Owned cattle, hogs, and 240 acres of land. A story that my great uncle (Will's nephew) told me, was that one day, when Will and Papa (James Robert) were young adults, they got into a fight, and Will cut Papa's throat from ear to ear. Papa pulled a gun on Will and told him they weren't going to do things that way, and walked away, keeping the gun on Will until he was out of sight. It seems like the Stewarts were a colorful bunch of people. I'd love to hear more stories of our Stewart ancestors if anyone has any!
