Will of John Stewart, wife’s name is Elizabeth. Lists these children as the primary inhereters of his plantation: Joseph, William, Alexander Irvin (two names, one person), and Mary. Then it lists “my children now yet named”: John, Robert, James, Archibald D., Elizabeth, Agnes, Jane, Ann, and Fanney. Also, granddaughter Elizabeth Morrow. Robert and Jos (or Jas) were listed as Guardians, Joseph as Executor. In 1996 I had paid a researcher and genealogy publisher named Brent Holcomb to try to find the parents of my James Stewart. This is all he was able to find due to courthouse fires. He believes John is my James’ father, but he said he couldn’t prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt because of the limited records that are available. I haven’t been able to find anyone else who is researching this family.
