The following post was made to the Kincaid list, but I'm interested in the Jenkins/Jinkens and Stewart/Stuart connections. I am a descendant of Hamilton Stuart/Stewart and his son Evan A. Stewart who married Nancy B. Jenkins. Her father's name is not known. Her mother was named Mary and was born in VA. Nancy was born in KY. These Stewarts are not known to have lived in KY, so it is not known where or how Nancy and Evan met and were married. Nancy had brothers William, Joseph and maybe a Richard. Does anyone have any information on the families listed in the second paragraph below, particularly whether any of them had TN, NC or AL connections? << "Joseph Kinkade and wife Elizabeth were original members of the Old Union << Church in Monroe, Co, KY. This is from old records, and I didn't save the << link to this site. << "Olie Comer Forrester sent me a copy of a letter someone had written about a << church in Monroe Co., KY called 'Old Union'. The letter contained a list of << the members of Old Union. The list was found among the personal papers of << Isaac Tipton Reneau. He preached in Southern Kentucky and Central Tennessee << and taught school in Gamaliel, KY in the 1850s. The members at Old Union << were: Louis [Lewis] Byram, John Welch, Nancy Welch, David Jinkens [Jinkins], << Mason Jinkens [""], Cornelius Hall, Ann Hall, David Stewart, Elizabeth << Stewart, Joseph King Kade [census records spell this Kincade], Elizabeth << King Kade [""]. These eleven organized Old Union church, but by 1810 there < <were 125 members and 3 preachers: Louis Byram, David Stewart, and Benjamin << Lynn." Ida
