    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Stewart Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AmJBAIB/7318.2.1.2.1.1.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Teresa! Thanks for your reply about the Stewart name(s.) I guess you are right; we do have to check alternate spellings. Refresh my memory; where do the Colberts fit in? I confess, that I am starting to get a little rummy what will all the info I am trying to take in and put out concerning the messages on the boards. The only place I have found my William S. Stewart is in Franklin Co.,Tenn., where he lived and died, as far as I know. He was in the Civil War on the Confederate side and was captured and held until the end of the war. I have his wife's (Zilliah Ann Crabtree) widow's pension papers which state that William S. was born in Jackson, County, Alabama. I know nothing yet about his parents or family before his time. Do you know, or think, that there is Indian in the Stewart line? I had always heard there was, but my Aunt Helen says it comes from her mother's side, the Lays. Please overlook if I am slow to answer; I got myself in over my head with messages posted and replies (which is good!). Hope to hear back from you soon. Bye for now. Marian Warren
