    3. Dear all, Does anyone recognize the following family members: I am looking for the descendants of Peter and Margaret Stewart (Isle of Skye/Appin Stewarts) and their sons Donald, John and Norman who emigrated to North Carolina and then moved on to Georgia in 1810 and from there possibly Illinois or South Carolina. They were also joined by cousins, Mary Stewart, Catherine Stewart and possibly Annie Stewart. The following were sent to me as possible locations where they may have ended up. Looking at groups settling together with similar names. 1840 Census info shows Norman Stewart IL. Kane Co. page 013 Peter Stewart IL. Coles Co 156 John Stewart same 1830 shows using name Norman Stewart as a guide line: Norman Stewart S.C. Chesterfield District page 264 John Stewart Same same Peter Stewart S.C. Darlington District page233 These 2 districts may be close together. She sent also (2) Peter Stewart 1830 Census, one in Ga. Bibb Co 065 N.C. Northampton Co page 101 1840 also shows only name (Donaldson Steward ) N.C. Northampton Co. page 087 All three sons were most likely grown and there may have been others with them. Norman had served in the Navy during the Napoleonic period. Family in Canada were in contact in the 1800s, but those that knew the particulars are now gone. If you have any connection or if your family was from the Isle of Skye, please let me know. Best Regards, Randy Stewart Victoria, B.C., Canada
