Hi Listers, My STEWART'S were Scot-Irish. Census say they were born in Ireland, immigrated to Quebec, Canada, them emigrated to New England, principally VT. Does anyone have any ties to Stewart's in Cavendish, Reading, or Springfield, VT I have much info on them in the U.S., but still trying to collect info from Canada and Ireland. I would be glad to share, and "name names" if anyone is interested. I also have brother of Alexander STEWART, named JOHN, who I believe stayed in Canada. I have a researcher looking into these Stewart's. Alexander Stewart, b abt 1814 was my GG-grandfather (Cavendish,/Proctorsville,VT) Samuel Stewart, b abt 1839-1841 was my G-grandfather (Reading, VT) Mathew Stewart, b abt 1844 was my G-grand uncle (Cavendish/Proctorsville,VT) Samuel + Mathew were born in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. William Stewart, b 1863 in VT was my grandfather Bert Stewart, b 1903 in VT was my father I have never seen any lister looking for this group of Stewart's.
