Will Banquet Dr. John Stewart Dean of Medical Profession Will Be Honored on Return From Edinburgh Members of the medical profession in Nova Scotia will tender a complimentary dinner to the dean of the profession Dr. John Stewart, next Thursday evening October 6th. Dr. Stewart returns from Edinburgh on Octobert first, where he received the highest degree in the gift of the College of Surgeons. He has been signally honored during the past few years, and that at this time, when he completes the fiftieth year of his service as a physician and surgeon is being honored by the Nova Scotia members of the profession. A confrere of Lister, Dr. John Stewart has been in attendance at many meetings in honor of the great surgeon, whose 200th anniversity is being celebrated this year. Shortly after his return to Nova Scotia, Dr. Stewart will leave for Baltimore to attend a great Lister anniversity meeting, where he will be one of the principal guests. It is expected that the dinner to be tendered Dr. Stewart in Halifax next week that many physicians from outside the city will be present. At this dinner it is understood he will be presented with an illuminated address and gift suitable to the occasion.
