Wednesday, July 21, 1937 The Halifax Chronicle, Halifax, N.S. D. J. Stewart LOWER MONTAGUE, P.E.I., July 20 - D.J. Stewart, well-known farmer and fruit grower of this district, died yesterday. He was 68. [his age may have been 88, it was hard to read] Following his graduation from Prince of Wales college he was engaged in teaching and later took up farming. He was a frequent prize-winner at provincial exhibitions. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Wrightman of Lower Montague. The late Hon. J. D. Stewart, former premier of Prince Edward Island, was a brother.
