That is the earliest ancestor I have been able to find. The Stewart name was acquired in the 1100's from the office of Lord High Steward of Scotland by Walter Stewart. They just changed the d to a t. Prior to that apparently they didn't have last names. Sounds kind of odd I know but that is the info I have been able to locate. If I can help you in any way, just ask.
