Author: mkyritsi Surnames: Stewart Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.stewart/10041.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I cannot find the post you are replying to, but my own Stewarts came from about 2 hours away from Killeshandra (with modern roads) and I made a small study of all the Stewarts in Western Ulster that included Killeshandra, county Cavan, though all I could find for that area is taken from the 1984 IGI. You mention no dates, but there was a William with wife Anne (--) who had 8 children beginning in 1802 and ending with a son John born 5 Feb 1821. And 6 Williams born between 1806 and 1826 to other families. To your other question, it is not likely that there is any connection to the House of Stuart. All legitimate lines have ended, and most of the Stewarts/Stuarts present in Ireland came over as farmers with one of the landowning Stewarts such as the Duke of Lennox in Donegal or the Baron of Castle Stewart in Tyrone.
