Father and mother died soon after coming to Arkansas, and has been on own resources since. owns fine stock of drugs at Dayton, Ark. Also postmaster at Dayton. STEWARD, J. FRANK Born in White Co., Ala., 1862. Attended school in Arkansas and educated himself at home. His father, John F. Stewart, born in Pike, Ala., 1840. Mother born in Georgia, 1841. Father was a farmer. Grandfather Stewart born in south Carolina. Grandmother born in Georgia. Mr. J.F. Stewart taught school from 1884 to 1890 in Arkansas. He married Miss Lizzie Ball, of Sebastian County, the first time. She lived only fifteen months; died of pneumonia. she had one child: John H., who died in 1884. He married second time Miss Susie Thomson in 1889. She was born in Mississippi. Her father, A.J. Thomson, was born in Holmes Co., Miss., 1840. Farmer. They have: Winnie A., born February 15, 1891; Harmon C., born December 2, 1893; N.M., born February 4, 1896; J.F., Jr., born January 3, 1898; C.C. Born April 17, 1900. Mr. J.F. Stewart was elected Tax Assessor of Sebastian Co., Ark., in 1898, and served two terms. He defeated seven men the first race, and was elected second time without opposition.
