>>> I have subscribed to this list for around 10 years trying to trace my 4 great grandfather William Stewart back beyond his birth in Virginia in 1766 in I believe Westmoreland County. In the Bible of one of his sons it says his parents were William and Susan. The Y DNA of one of his direct descendants, my mother's first cousin, is online with no close matches yet. William is reported to have had a brother who died at York Town and one who was killed at Cassidy's station in Mason County Kentucky in the 1780's or 90's in an affidavit filed by a minister in an application for a pension for caring for him in his old age by one of his daughters to the House of Representatives in the 1880's based on William's service as an Indian scout along the Ohio in the 1780's and 90's. William married Malinda Price in 1796 in Kentucky. She was from Maryland and was the daughter of Christopher Price and Mary Hatfield and was born a twin to her brother Thomas in1775. William and Malinda lived! in Harrison County, Kentucky where they had 12 children, 9 of whom survived until adulthood. They had Mary in1797, James in 1800 who died as a child, Charles in1802 who was handicapped, WILLIAM in 1804 (my ggg grandfather), John Price in 1806, Malinda in 1808, Zerina in 1810, Thomas in 1813 followed by Perry and Sally who died as toddlers, Susan in 1819, and Robert H in 1822. As far as possible I have traced each descendant for one or two generations. All except Charles left descendants. Thomas was the last to die in Missouri in1899. Malinda married Martin Light and died with her husband in 1842 in Ohio leaving 4 children. Their father William died in 1853 in Van Buren County, Iowa at the age of 87. Great to see some action on the list! Karen Sent from my iPad
