    3. There is one sibling in my early Stewart family who is lost. Mary Jane Stewart, daughter of William and Mary Ann (Haney), b. ca 1834 in Oriskany, NY, married 7 Dec 1853 George A. Hamilton, b. July 1822 in Scotland, in Sandwich, Dekalb, IL. On the 1850 census she was living at home with her parents in Whitestown, NY, aged 16, b. NY, attending school (p. 59). On the census of 1855 living with parents, married; George Hamilton was there too. In 1860 she was living with her parents, with her husband and young son George, in New York Mills. Found living in Ward 13, Chicago, IL in 1870: HAMILTON, Geo A., 45, boots & shoes ret[ailer], $7000, $1000, b. Scotland, parents foreign, citizen ", Mary S., 36, keeping house, b. NY ", George A., 11, at home, b. NY, father foreign born McKNIGHT, Geo, 30, fire ins agt, b. NY ", Clara, 25, boarding, b. NY ", Sanford, 1, boarding, b. IL BURNS, Kate, 18, domestic serv, b. Canada, parents foreign born By 1877-78 George Hamilton was living in Chicago, with a second wife Agnes, b. Aug 1845 in Scotland. This was confirmed in 1900 when she and George said they had been married only 26 years. With them was his son George by his first wife, age 21. Does anyone have any connection to a George Hamilton married to a Stewart, or a George Hamilton, b. ca 1859, with these parents? Many thanks, Mary in Greece
