I have the marriage registration for Alexander Buchanan Stewart who married Jane Cunningham Clark in 1887 at Netherwood, Inverness- as per census records, I am pretty sure that this same Alexander was the son of David Crombie Stewart and Isabella Buchanan. Alexander's place of birth was Cupar, Fifeshire, although I have seen people attribute his place of birth as Lanarkshire and have no idea why. On the marriage registration however, Alexander's parents were listed as Margaret Buchanan and Alexander Buchanan Stewart. Can you shed any light on this discrepancy for me?
