I’ve asked about Joshua Stewart in the past but I’m going to put it out there again for any new members to read. Joshua was born in Pennsylvania to, I believe, Thomas Stewart in about 1815. In the 1850 Census he is in Peters Township, Franklin County, PA and married to Mary Jones (m 11 Feb 1841). They have 4 children, John Wesley b 1841, Mary Elizabeth b 1843, Ellen Jane b 1845 and Susan Caroline b 1849. By 1860 they are in Wethersfield Township, Henry County, Illinois. They now have 2 more children. Sarah Amanda(my Great Grandmother) b 1852 and Thomas Rush b 1855. By 1870 Joshua and Mary don’t show up on the Census and the children are scattered around the Bishop Hill, Henry County area on farms. Mary Elizabeth and Ellen Jane are married. Susan, Sarah and Thomas are working on farms as servants and farm hands. My questions are: Where did Joshua and Mary go. I find no death records in Henry County or in the Illinois Death Database. An aunt says they are buried in Kewanee, Illinois but there are no records there either. That I can find anyway. She passed away with out leaving sources. I don’t have access to her notes either. Second: I cant find John Wesley beyond 1850. In 1870 there is a J. W. Stewart in Galva Township. No idea if he is connected. There it is. If anyone would know anything about Joshua and Mary or John Wesley I’d appreciate the help. As for the others, I have found their locations and families for the next couple of generations or so.
