This group became known as the Napier's Regiment. He was also ADC to the Governor of Bombay William Hornby. I have been through Madras and Bengal Army lists from 1760 onwards. I am trying to establish his origins. 1: Was he from the Bombay army? 2: Did he belong to the HEICo European Regiments. 3: What were his origins in Scotland or England?
