Cook, born 1825 in VA, died after 1880. 1880 census shows his father, mother, and he were all born in Virginia. Occupation listed as Farmer. Shown on 1850 Census from Monroe County, Virginia, District 39, Page 763, VA1850 Slave Schedule. Emily, born 1828 in SC. 1880 census shows that her father, mother, and she were all from South Carolina. Her occupation is listed as Housekeeping. I have more information... got quite a bit from a library in Waycross, GA... one of our ancestors told our family history to someone who was thoughtful enough to write it down before she died, it's in a book at the library there... some interesting tales, though not completely accurate since she was up in age when they spoke (I tried to piece it together with birth and death certificates I have and it didn't exactly match, but she was pretty close on ages and relationships and it was wonderful to see something recorded and maintained in a safe spot). If you want additional information, or just want to get in touch with a distant cousin, just drop a line. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
