    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: TeresaStuart35 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.stewart/9200.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi DNA testing has been done on 2 of Hamilton StewartŽs male ancestorŽs. We have at least 5 males from Nathaniel StewartŽs line and probably 5 or more from Dr John StewartŽs line. None match eachother. It was always thought that Hamilton was Nathaniel StewartŽs son or at least a close relative as Hamilton served in the same Militia(Henry CO VA 1779) as this other Stewart line(my line), and is found witnessing deeds for Nathaniel. Hamilton also named a son Nathaniel, and Hamilton leased land from NathanielŽs brother Edward Stewart. Hamilton never owned land in Surry CO NC. He did own land when he went to Tn by late 1799-early 1800. Last time I find Hamilton on Surry CO NC tax lists in 1799. Researchers say Hamilton married a Bledsoe, but I donŽt think there is a marriage bond to be found. Nathaniel also married a Bledsoe(still not proved). Nathaniel and a Charles Steward did act as chain carriers for Moses, John Bledsoe in Surry CO NC ca 1778. They were also chain carrie! rs for a John Holder who married Ann Bledsoe.
