So that makes us 3rd cousins, x1 removed! I have your father in my genealogy research already, so it's really neat to have that line confirmed by a descendant. I'm descended from Leighton's brother, Nathan. (Nathan Stewart to William Fredrick Stewart to Florence Stewart to Cheryl Bordine to me). I have come across two other people (not Stewarts that I can tell) in my Georgia research who were born in the mid to late 1800's who are named Leighton/Laton Erastus xxx . Do you know anything about where your Leighton's name came from? I'm also interested in fleshing out my information on Leighton's descendants. Are you interested in sharing info? I know there are tons of Boyett(e)s in Ware/Pierce Counties. I think my grandmother had something around 40 first cousins on her Boyett side.
