Hi, I AM STILL LOOKING FOR A STEWART THAT I BELIEVE WAS IN LANCASTER CO, PA BETWEEN 1690 - 1705 (I COULD BE OFF 5 YEARS ON EACH END) HE MARRIED IN 1705 AND SETTLED CLOSE TO WHEELING, WV - THEIR 4 CHILDREN WERE ORPHANED BETWEEN 1824 - 26. John Brown John Brown, According to KING'S MOUNTAIN & ITS HEROES by Lyman C. Draper, was born in Derry Co, Ireland in 1738; migrated to Lancaster Co, PA about 1763, where he taught school awhile, and married Jane McDowell. He subsequently removed to Salisbury, NC; about 1770 to the Wilkes region on the Yadkin. He was among the first board of Magistrates, when Wilkes became a County in 1778; served under Cleveland at King's Mountain as a captain; 3 times represented Wilkes Co in House of Commons. John Brown became father-in-law to my James Stewart (his second marriage), son of a James Stewart Which is my Brick wall. Could James Stewart and John Brown migrated to NC together? Could he have been one of the 8 brothers?
