There were six brothers who came from Scotland in 1771, two of these brothers settled in Hampshire County or what is now Mineral County. A John Stewart descended from a Jeremiah Stewart and he lived near his Uncle Thomas Stewart in Short Gap or what is now known as Ft. Ashby for 35-40 years from about 1800 until his death in 1835. I would suggest that you research there as possibly LeRoy S. descended from Thomas. Eventually after John Stewart died his son, John Gilpin Stewart, moved to WA County, MD. In the mid 1850's the Stewart left and moved to Iowa. This John Stewart had 2-3 other sons so perhaps LeRoy descended from them. I would also research Thomas as I know nothing of his descendants.
