    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: SueTretter Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.stewart/7653.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: It's been a long time since you posted your original request for information about the ancestors of Alvin F Stewart, et al. Perhaps all your questions have been answered -- if so, I hope you'll share because I still have lots of questions about these ancestors we share. Below is a copy of a note written by Sue Gray in 2005: "Alexander, Margaret, and their six children emigrated from SCOTLAND to Ballymena, Antrim, Ireland where they stayed shortly befoe sailing together to New London. On the voyage, Margaret Dixon Stewart delivered their 7th child, Samuel. They were admitted to the First Congregational Church of New London on 26 Jun 1720 and later settled at Voluntown, COnn. where he was a farmer. ... On 25 Sep 1740, his son James deeded land in Voluntown to him which he in turn deeded 2 days later to his son Thomas ... His wife died in 1732 at New London where he married second a widow, Mrs Janet Rogers on 15 Nov 1732. He died at Voluntown between 1740-2, and was survived by his second wife." Sue mentioned The Stewart Kin and Hal G Ferguson of Rexburg, ID, as her source. And Hal G Ferguson seems to credit Edward L Woodyard of Armonk, NY, as his source. Sorry I can't be of more help but if you have other questions, perhaps there are some actual documented facts I could provide. Best wishes.
