I have it also in my own Irish research document, with other information about Poyntz Stewart's siblings, taken from books at the Society of Genealogists in London. CARRICKFERGUS CHARLES, b. ca 1680, s. ALEXANDER/ISABELLA Stewart of Wester Clunie, Scotland, was a Captain in the British Army, stationed in Carrickfergus. He marr. ca 1718 Rose Hall, dr Roger, Esq./Christian Poyntz and d. 4 Jun 1774. His widow d. 11 Feb 1779 and they are both bur. in the churchyard of St. Nicholas' church, Carrickfergus. His will was probated in Belfast 9 Sep 1774, ch. ALEXANDER, b. ca 1720, Rev., emigr. to USA ca 1752 and settled in Bath, Beaufort County, NC where he became the first minister in St. Thomas' Church. JAMES, b. ca 1722, was in the Royal Scots Regiment, stationed in 1758 in Halifax, Canada. ANNE, b. 1726, d. unmarried at Lisburn 26 Jul 1804, aged 78 CHARLOTTE, b. 25 Jan 1728, marr. -- Smythe (cf p.23) CHARLES ROSS, b. 1730, Capt. in British Army, stationed in Gibraltar in 1758. He marr. Elizabeth Twaits 28 Aug 1770 at St. James' Church in St. Helena. ROSE, b. 1733, marr. (1) John Rowan and (2) -- Phillips. She d. 1817. POYNTZ, bp 21 Jun 1736, Capt. in British Army, stationed in Drogheda in 1758. He marr. Magdalen Gayer, dr Rev. P. Gayer, and d. 9 Apr 1823. Two sons, CHARLES and PHILIP. He was Yeomanry Officer in the Derryaghy Infantry in 1796, and also J.P. for County Antrim in 1797. (Society of Genealogists, London, and Stewart Clan Magazine C-110,117: issue of April 1935) C-117 goes on to say Charles Stewart married Amelia Gordon: dsp. Philip Stewart married Anne Smyth.
